Members of resident associations and climate/ecology and anti‐pollution groups in London N1 want Islington Council to alter their plan for the development of Dixon Clark Court estate at Highbury Corner so as to save seven of the eighteen mature and healthy trees they originally wanted to remove.
These seven trees are an important screen for the estate and the adjacent primary school playground. In addition, amending an already approved planning decision in favour of preserving trees would be an important precedent in helping to avoid urban deforestation in the future.
